Blue Turtle Seduction put on one hella've show last night at Coopers Ale Works in Nevada City. The last few times they have played at Coppers has been on a Tuesday or Wednesday night and it was sure nice to see them on a Saturday night. They like to play here and they call Nevada City "Middle Earth".
Blue Turtle is Jay Seals playing the guitar & vocals, Christian Zupancic wailing on the fiddle, mandolin, & vocals, Glenn Stewart blowing on the harmonica, vocals, & dancing, Stephen Seals thumping on the bass, & Adam Navone banging on the drums. These guys are my favorite band right now and I go and see them as often as I can. Till the next time.

Albino! put on an excellent show last night (11/21) at the Miners Foundry. Billed appropriately as the Harvest Party, everyone was there celebrating the Harvest. Albino! from San Francisco, is a ten-piece Afrobeat ensemble that honors the legacy of Nigerian musical revolutionary Fela Kuti. Albino! has a heavy horn section, outrageous costumes, infectious group choreography, and great music. All the festy lovin' folk were there and they all had a great time. I myself had a blast and love it whenever Albino! comes to town. All I can say is they rock!

The Band Zoo Station played at Coopers Ale Works last night and I was impressed. A U2 tribute band these guys rock. I have a good ear for music and they were right on, as though I was listening to the real U2 Band.

Singer Bonalmost leads the show, flying high with the vocal strength and confidence of Bono's The Joshua Tree days. The Sledge showers thick layers of effectual guitar work over crowd as Adamesque on bass and Barely Larry on the drums deliver the pounding heartbeat of some of modern rock's most memorable songs. I really enjoyed the show and heard all my favorite U2 songs during the night. I'll definitely will see them again when they come back to our area.

Last night at The Chief Crazy Horse I saw the band Cosmic Wobble. Now I have not seen these guys in about 4 years when they were a five piece band. Now they are a three piece band with Ben "Sy" Bodine banging on the Drums, Clay Taylor playing the Bass, and Ben Yubeta wailing on the Lead Guitar. Their show last night was outstanding, amazing, and electric. Their first set was all original tunes with a mostly funky beat and yet they Jammed Out in the middle of most every song. Their second set they threw in a few cover tunes including one by the Grateful Dead. I had a most wonderful time as did everyone else there. I know that when they play again I will be there with bells on.

I have not wrote a blog in awhile. I have seen a lot of great bands since such as Ten Mile Tide at Coopers, Pinkie Varner and The Morning Wood Blues Band at The Chief Crazy Horse, Alfred Howard And The K23 Orchestra at Coopers, Green Machine at The Chief Crazy Horse, The Trespassers at Coopers, The Deadbeats at The Miner's Foundry, 2ME and Five Eyed Hand at Coopers. All wonderful bands that put on outstanding shows here in our little town of Nevada City. If you saw these bands you know what I mean. If you missed any of these bands be sure to check them out the next time they play here. I missed writing blogs because I have been busy moving and now am feeling settled in my new place.
